With the third and fourth ranked Bantamweights set to square off for what most likely is a title shot, which fighter will be able to take advantage of this opportunity? Rob Font is paired up against former Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt and both men have UFC Gold in their sights. With a lot on the line this will be nothing new to Garbrandt, he's used to fighting high stakes fights and will find himself right at home being the headliner for this weekend! With Font having his biggest win almost five years ago in the Ultimate Fighter finale, he's looking to make a statement that he is a true threat to the rest of the division.
With less than three days from the event the oddsmakers have released the lines, so lets take a look! MONEYLINE:
Garbrandt -110
Font -110
TO GO THE DISTANCE:
Yes +215
No -305
Currently riding a three fight win streak dating back to 2018, Rob Font looks to have continued success this weekend in the biggest fight in his UFC career. Rob is a proven veteran in the UFC fighting a total of eleven times in the last 5 years racking up 8-3 record. He has 8 wins via KO/TKO and 4 wins coming by submission proving that he is a true mixed martial artists with the ability to knock you out on the feet, or submit you on the ground if need be. Font's last appearance inside the cage was monumental for him as he was able to stop Marlon Moraes inside the first round which is even more impressive considering Moraes has scored victories over people like Jose Aldo and Aljamain Sterling.

For "No Love" Cody Garbrandt this fight is just another step back in the right direction towards UFC greatness. After dominating the UFC winning his first six fights he was able to reach the pinnacle of the division by beating longtime champion Dominic Cruz for the belt in 2016, but since then it has been a rough road for the ex-champion. He has posted a very surprising 1-3 record in his last four appearances and finds himself in a new "rebuilding" mode for the first time in his career. During this tough skid Garbrandt has been fighting top tier opponents throughout so Rob Font will actually be the lowest ranked opponent he has been paired up against since 2016. Cody also has been struggling outside of the octagon as well, dealing with a nasty case of Covid that sidelined him for almost the entirety of 2020. Finally Cody was able to have his hand raised in his last outing ripping off one of the best knockout's of the year against Raphael Assuncao at the horn of round 2. With momentum once again back on his side can Cody continue to find success within the division?

So with all the build-up for this main event, how do I think this will end up playing out? MONEYLINE: Font -110 I know Garbrandt is in familiar territory with this marque fight, but I believe this is Rob's time. He has been in the UFC for almost a decade now and is fighting the best he ever has in his entire career. I believe Font seizes his opportunity and pulls off what will be his biggest win to date. Look for Rob to actually be the aggressor on his feet and to dominate in the clinch throughout. TO GO THE DISTANCE:
No -305
With both fighters having proven finishing capabilities, and 5 full rounds to work with, there is very little chance this fight goes the distance. With that being said, -305 is too heavy of odds to have a good net return on, instead you can find a better bet under the fight props section. "Under 2.5 rounds" is my selection for this fight, and that will be the line I lay my money on. TOP BETS FOR THIS CARD:
